Ozanam measures three primary outcomes to determine program effectiveness: placement stability, symptom reduction, and social measures. Placement stability considers both how well a client adapts to our treatment setting, and also the degree to which that client is able to maintain in the setting they enter following their treatment at Ozanam. Symptom reduction looks at the number and severity of symptoms the client was presenting with at the time of admission, and the degree to which those symptoms improve during the course of treatment. Finally, the outcome of social measures looks for improvement in how the client relates to the community, interacts with others, and improves in various settings. For example, some of our most recent outcomes for the 119 clients leaving residential treatment last year include the following:
Staff members at Ozanam also collect consumer satisfaction information from clients, parents and agency caseworkers in an effort to determine what aspects of our programming are viewed as most effective to those whom we serve, and also to identify opportunities to improve how we provide treatment services. The most recent survey data from 2010 measures satisfaction on a scale from 1 to 7 (with 1 being the most satisfied and 7 the least). The average rating for our services was 1.62 from parents, 1.58 from case workers, and 1.87 from clients. In this way, Ozanam is dedicated to providing the best possible care to those it serves. |
