Group Therapy

Upon admission, each child is assigned a therapist and treatment team who work together to develop an individualized plan of care to guide treatment. The team determines the child's therapeutic, academic and social needs and then develops a plan to create opportunities for success in all of those areas.

Children in our care participate in individual, family and group therapy to address issues like anger control, authority issues, family struggles, and an array of abusive behaviors (which may include substance abuse). Therapists engage each resident from a strengths-based approach to assist them in developing skills and coping strategies that will benefit them in daily life. Therapy happens at a variety of times and in a number of settings to meet the needs of the youth as those needs arise.

Ozanam is part of Cornerstones of Care, a partnership of agencies providing therapeutic treatment services for children and families. Visit our Affiliations and Partners page to find out more.

    History

In 1948, Ozanam began as a small home for a handful of boys. Throughout the past 60 years, staff members have continued to recognize and respond to growing needs within the community in order to provide a continuum of care for thousands of children, families, homeless young adults, and schools throughout the Midwest.
