Medical Services

Children in our care benefit from living in a safe and structured environment where they are surrounded by a dedicated staff of more than 150. In addition to youth counselors, teachers and therapists, Ozanam also has medical staff on-call 24 hours a day. The medical program is supervised by a registered nurse and employs nursing personnel while utilizing psychiatrists and pharmacy consultants. Regular medication reviews are held to monitor children's needs, and regular medical and dental check-ups are provided. In case of a serious medical emergency, children are transported to one of several nearby hospitals. Ozanam also has an on-campus health clinic twice per week supported by the Adolescent Clinic at Children's Mercy Hospital.

Ozanam is part of Cornerstones of Care, a partnership of agencies providing therapeutic treatment services for children and families. Visit our Affiliations and Partners page to find out more.

    History

In 1948, Ozanam began as a small home for a handful of boys. Throughout the past 60 years, staff members have continued to recognize and respond to growing needs within the community in order to provide a continuum of care for thousands of children, families, homeless young adults, and schools throughout the Midwest.
