| Spiritual Life Program |
A number of years ago, the staff and Board of Directors recognized a growing need to address the spiritual needs of the children and families of Ozanam. Realizing that fewer and fewer children come to Ozanam with any religious training or background, an ecumenical spiritual life program was created to help residents develop and strengthen their faith. Helping children develop their faith life is the primary goal of Ozanam's Spiritual Life Program. Our Chaplain helps the children develop and expand their beliefs in a denomination of their own choice. Weekly chapel services are held at Cooke Spiritual Life Center on Ozanam’s main campus, but attendance is not mandatory. The chaplain also functions as the campus pastor and provides counsel and guidance for residents' crises and growth as they continue their journey towards increased health. The family of Thelma Cooke, an Ozanam founding member, provided a gift that helped create the Ozanam Chapel. Chuck Peters, architect and Ozanam alum designed the Cooke Spiritual Life Center. Later, many generous contributions helped endow the chaplaincy, assuring the program's continuity. Click here to donate to Ozanam's Spiritual Life Program. |
